Furniture wanted
Hello, We are a couple in the process of buying a house in Abruzzo which we need to furnish. Is there somewhere we can go to where complete house clearances are advertised? We need everything from bed frames (we will obviously want new mattresses) to sofas and saucepans. It would seem to make sense to buy a job lot. Does anyone know a site?

It’s a great adventure Suzanne, but there is a lot to learn, “piano, piano” as they would say in Italia. They don’t really do such sites in Italy and the second hand places and not that good, although you can find some good stuff there. Your best bet is where you are i.e. these forums. But you need a bed (and a mattress of course), so I would get such at somewhere like Mondo here or Ikea. For the latter, look on line at the UK site, get the code and then put it in the Italy site. Ikea is much cheaper for delivery, last I looked €12 for whatever you order, Mondo was 10% of the order – a rip-off! But you can pick up the Mondo stuff from their Warehouse which is just down the road from you at Elice… Yes, I do other forums as well, like many others here… If you can get by on the least possible, then your best bet is to track these forums (especially locally) and see if someone is selling up, then you will get most things you want. Else, IPER (Pescara Nord) does a lot of household things at a very good price, but also check out Todis (Cesi) for pots and pans. A strange shop, but once you get used to it, one you will get to like! If you need any help, get back either here or the local forum - enjoy!

We have bought furniture from a place called Centro Convenience,they are a similar format to Ikea.Found them quite cheap.I don't know if there is one in your area,worth going online,cheers,Brian.
