Finding the dead
How can one find out if and/or how somebody died? If one has a name, CdiF and address of the alleged deceased. They would be from the Medicina area of Bologna.

Re: Finding the dead
Depending on why and how long ago you are talking about the other expats site might be able to help. Most seem to just write to the relevant comunes asking for help.

Re: Finding the dead
I think you might have to get in touch with the comune as well. I don't think that Italy has a national registry office.

Re: Finding the dead
OK. Someone sort of owes me money and now their lawyer is claiming they are dead. Now this lawyer is no doubt their friend and is not part of any law firm. I just would like to see official documents that this person is in fact dead.

Duffer, I think the local ULSS have to keep records of people that have died in hospital. Not sure how you'd go about getting any records though. Have you tried to ring any comune to ask about the registers? |
Re: Finding the dead
I've spoken with my lawyer and they are checking with the anagrafe in Bologna for the deceased. It's not a great deal of money but apparently this guy was getting sued by several people.

Seeing the title of this post and who posted it, I thought duffer was suggesting an on line seance.:D

Re: Finding the dead
How should we do it...?
OK at 15:30 local time everyone touch their mice and call out for a person called Mingarini of Medicina thru yr fingertips. If we don't get a reply then the git is alive somewhere and I'll track him down. |

Re: Finding the dead
 I like the modern touch you've given it there with the 'everyone touch their mice' :D  (and after reading the Bidet thread a much much more hygenic approach!!!!)

Re: Finding the dead
I didn't get any signs so he must still be alive and kicking someplace.

Re: Finding the dead
Check the pulse?
(That's what Duffer would have replied if someone else had asked the question. ha) |
Re: Finding the dead
you might be able to go into the comune and ask for a certificato di morta to find out for sure however you could be able to get the money back if he or she has any heirs! Debts get passed on unless they've done the rinuncia al'eredità .
