Hi,

My husband has an Italian license and recently got a speeding fine in the UK. On the form it does not accept an Italian license number. Any ideas what to do?
We would like to apply for a UK license but are concerned that it will not arrive within the 28 days we have - we have already lost some time as we went to Italy so couldn't send all the docs off as the passport is one required doc.

There must be a telephone number. Call them and explain. At the end of the day they want your money. I couldn't find my licence once and they waited until a new one arrived from the DVLA and then put the points on. Can you go and have it done while you wait at a police station? I'd be more concerned about being passportless than anything else.

Thanks LH. I've been doing a of research - interesting that they held off on your points until you got your license. i have managed to find a phone number - I'll ring tmrw - DVLA said I need to speak to the police. We are going to try and get the UK license in time......
