So, has anyone been and bought something worth the trip?

In the sense that we were there already anyway, yes. Cheddar, Stilton and Shortbread. They also had marmalade, chutneys and "English-style yoghurt", none of which we bought.. That was it basically, so I personally wouldn't go any great distance.

I think it's worth it just for the cheddar, but that's because I'm a cheese fiend. Looking forward to cheese on toast and jacket potatoes! I don't get anything else when I go, I wish they did baked beans though

Heinz baked beans.Iper grande sell them and also Iper Simply but they're almost 3 euros a tin!
There's a very nice cheese that's quite passable as a cheddar sold in Todis. it's a Tuscan pecorino.

I'm sure I've seen baked beans in Auchan too, and peanut butter. ! Expensive though..

Yes we have them in our local Iper and €1.99 but still a rip off!

If you take a look in the ‘ethnic’ food shops you will find Baked Beans for €1 a tin.

Iper Grande usually does Red Leicester as well.

I went and bought Cheddar and Stilton, a bottle of the fakey Ribena pop that needs diluting in water. Bought some Shortbread to see what it's like but the kids have already eaten that so I still haven't managed to see if it's dunkable in a cup of tea. If the kids have already scoffed it then it can't have been bad. Was disappointed not to see any cans of Guinness this time. I usually stock up on them because the cans are proper pint sized ones and even though I can't stand the stuff, my partner enjoys a pint now and then and my Irish daddy who likes a few glasses of Italian red wine, still enjoys his Guinness when here. The fake Baileys isn't half bad either.

Lol. The section that is about half a percent of the whole supermarket and soya sauce is the most prominent foreign product. Took me years to find Tahini to make my own hummus.

When we went back to UK in May we noticed that the beans are supplied by a different firm now.Campo Largo, the Italian firm that supplies all Lidl canned stuff no longer makes the beans, hence no beans anywhere now except UK.We bought the wholetail scampi on Brit week, was good.Didn't bother with cheddar,we drive over with a shedload every year.Cheers,Brian.
