Easyjet check-in

Has anybody flown easyjet recently?
I have been told by a couple who just flew over to Italy that you now HAVE to print your own boarding card before you get to the airport.
They told me if you dont, they charge you at the airport.
This sounds very strange to me,and theres nothing on their web-site about it. There has always been the option to print it if you didnt have luggage.(I do have luggage) But nothing about it now being chargable at the airport.
This couple are elderly,so may have got the wrong end of the stick.
Can anybody shed any light on the matter?
I will print my boarding card out, just in case, but would like to know for sure.
Many thanks

Re: Easyjet check-in

Last time my father came down here with easyjet from Milan we had to print out the boardin pass,

Looks like they are doing the same as Ryan air

Re: Easyjet check-in

My wife's Mother and Aunt flew from Catania to Milan complete with checked baggage with Easyjet last week, At the check in they verbally gave the booking reference that I had texted them. That is all they needed.

They had one slight problem, my mother in law had her hand luggage and her big hand bag (despite our warnings about only one piece of hand luggage) cost her 30€ to be allowed to take the hand bag on the plane.

I know you have to print your boarding pass with Ryanair or they will charge you £40 if they have to re print it.

It does say on the easyjet website that it is a ticketless air line.

Re: Easyjet check-in

As a follow up to my original question, for anybody thats interested...
I emailed easyjet direct and they answered today.
They say you DONT have to print out your boarding card as they realise some people dont have access to a printer.
If you dont print it yourself there is NO charge at the airport to get this done.
So maybe my friends got it muddled up somehow.
They did point out that if you dont have luggage to check-in then it would be quicker to get the boarding pass printed out at home, but it is still not essential.
I hope this clears it up for anybody wondering.
