Driving through Italy from France

We are soon to be doing a road trip from Spain via Genoa, Lido di Jeselo, Mestre (outside of Venice) and Trieste. The return journey will be via Tortona. We will be using the main coastal motorway and just staying overnights and extended stays in hotels in the cities mentioned. Will we encounter any problems with low traffic zones, low emission zones etc. ? We will be driving a 12 year old Spanish registered Ford Focus estate car.
Any information would be very welcome thank you.

The restrictions are on diesels up to Euro 5 between September and April and apply to big towns.

Thanks for the info, but it is not terribly helpful as it does not state which towns are prohibited.
If anyone has any local knowledge of the route we are driving, we would be grateful.

Re: Driving through Italy from France

I,likewise, have an old banger,(new car on order but hasn't arrived in time for the summer),and have to make a journey through the north of Italy to Belgium. On google maps when planning the routes it does advise you of restrictions passing through various cities and towns, but what I'd like to ascertain is ,if I stick to the main autostradas, despite obviously having to still touch on outskirts of major emission banned cities, will I be able to do so,as long as I don't exit the motorway? My return journey, planned via France -again all on motorway, would take me via Torino - and there again on google maps I also see restrictions -would that also be the case if you were circumnavigating on the motorway? If anyone does have any knowledge/experience of this,it would be much appreciated!
