The premium beer is on sale at Lidl this weekend. Works out at 37cents for a 50cl tin, excellent value if you can find any left.

Yes. Starts tomorrow and I saw mature stilton on the "volantino" this time but that might depend on the size or location of the store.

Our local Lidl had the cheddar and stilton in yesterday so I stole a march on the local Brits and stocked up.

My Lidl had the Stilton, but I don't like it so I stocked up on Cheddar. Not much else though. Was much better a few years ago.

I make broccoli and stilton soup to use up the large amount of broccoli I get from our garden.

Didn't the SV Brits boycott Lidl after they stopped selling the baked beans? I used to get the Dutch cucumbers there until Penny started stocking them.

Famila in SV also sell cheddar, usually sliced but you can ask them cut you a nice wedge. Occasionally IceBoy has it too.

Ironically those beans were made by a firm called Campo Largo in Italy.

They did have them in again for a short while, but they have disappeared again.

We went for the mature cheddar on Wednesday - only one packet left , tried again the next day to see if they had re-stocked but no luck. Got some packets of the mild cheddar instead. Will be quicker off the starting blocks next time!
