Hello everyone. My name is Ben and we have just moved to Italy 1 week ago so everything is very new. Living in Saronno just north of Milan. Would be great to hear from you all.

Hi Ben

We're in the process of buying a holiday house near Biella (roughly between Torino and Milano). Have you bought your own place?

best wishes
Kevin

Hi Kevin.
Good to hear from you. No we are renting initially. At present I am living in a hotel (paid for by company).awaiting our lease agreement to be signed. What brings you here?

We’ve spent a few years on holiday in Italy and had the opportunity to buy a modest place near Biella. We aim to get out there for about 3 months of the year for a few years before relocating permanently. We haven’t any contacts in Italy so finding out (or making it up as we go along really!) things for ourselves e.g. opening an Italian bank account, Codice Fiscale, etc. Hopefully about to make progress with the house purchase with a possible exchange date in May – July. The Piemonte region appealed as we have good infrastructure links to Torino and Milano (Malpensa).

Well we are lucky that the company my partner works for has allocated us an advisor for things like fiscal codes and bank accounts as well as a school for my son and help with finding a home. Just can't be in a rush in Italy.
Yeah with us we can be in Como in 25 mins or Milan in less.

Hi Ben

I'm not that far down the road from you. Am close to Monza and have been here for a good few years now. PM me if you need anything and Welcome!

Hi Monzagirl,

Do you know the easiest way to get services connected (electricity, water and gas)? I'm struggling a bit knowing how I might set this up and the arrangements for payment. Any advice very much appreciated. Kevin
