Hi there
Does any one know anything about a company called poweritalian who claim to be 60% cheaper than Enel. Sounds too good to be true but very tempting to change over.I would be interested to know if any one uses this company and if so are you happy with them?
OUr electricity bills are horrendous even without any heating costs so it would be great if this was genuine

I've never heard of them and I get quite a few people bashing on my door from utility companies.
I can't find a website for them either so I'd be wary if I were you.

Never heard of them either. Doesn't mean they don't exist, but no way will you save 60% by just changing providers.

Sorry, got name wrong,it's italypowered and they do have a website www.italypowered.com but NO one about here has heard of them.it would certainly be great to save money on electricity but is it a con d0 you think?
I pay 100 euros every month not including heating which is gas and pellet stoves so if electricity was cheaper >I could even have the luxury of using my tumbler dryer in winter,oh bliss!!

Hmmmm - the website says they have been in the Italian market since 2006 - funny how nobody has ever heard of them.
They offer a fixed rate of 75 cents per KW. I'd look at your old bills if I were you and see how many KW you use on average each month. You can now set fixed rates with Enel.
AND they ask for a 30 euro change over fee. Other companies don't charge for the switch over.

[QUOTE=DorothyW;9712349]I pay 100 euros every month not including heating which is gas and pellet stoves so if electricity was cheaper QUOTE]
Feel free to tell me to mind my own business, but if you are heating (incl. water?) with pellets and gas, you seem to be consuming a lot of electricity. There are two of us in a detached house; we have radio, tv, w/machine, elec oven, even a vacuum cleaner; we are not ecological fascists i.e. fairly normal lifestyle and the highest we have paid (ENEL) since 2004 is €89 for a 2 month period.
The current isn't draining away through the open sockets, is it?
Have recently switched to ENEL ENERGIA, fixed taglia; not sure that the change is saving us anything but at least I understand the pricing, something I never did with ENEL proper.

[QUOTE=jiminalpago;9712709]
Are you sure your meter is working well? What you are paying is crumbs to what we or our neighbours pay.
Before we put on the solar panels, our consumption was on average 300 euro per 2 months and we are quite frugal with the usage. Constantly switching off lights, using appliances when electricity is cheaper, after 7pm and we do not heat the house with it or have a clothes dryer.
We pay 19 cents for the expensive period per KW, Mon-Fri 8am-7pm and 5 cents at all other times.
Our neighbours pay around 600 euro per 2 months,so does one of my friends but they are quite careless with it-I hear their w/m and drier on their balcony on at all times.
Our friends have switched to Edison and say it is a lot cheaper than Enel.

Well enough for me!
It is odd though, that my consumption should be so different.
For obvious reasons I haven't been tempted by solar generation, it would take too long to recover the capital outlay.
