From 2021 IVIE for UK property will be based on property purchase cost and not the council tax banding.A tax hike?:ohmy:

I dont think it has ever been based on council tax banding. The AdE always wanted the purchase price, which was great if you owned a house for the last 50 years, less so if you bought last week.

This was the case: Per l'applicazione della Council Tax, tuttavia, non esiste un valore catastale cui fare riferimento: l'imposta inglese non si basa su un valore puntuale, ma viene calcolata in funzione della fascia di valore attribuita all'immobile; agli immobili è attribuita una fascia di valore minimo ed un valore massimo (espressa con una lettera da A ad H).

Inoltre la stessa Council tax non può essere scomputata dall’IVIE in quanto non è indicata nella colonna 3 della tabella 1 allegata alla Circolare dell’Agenzia delle Entrate n. 28/2012: la Council Tax non ha natura patrimoniale, ma rappresenta un tributo dovuto per il godimento dei servizi locali forniti dal servizio comunale.

I didnt keep track of any changes in recent years, when perhaps it did change (inw which case apologies), but it seems immaterial now!
