Try segugio.it. It's a comparison website.

I use a 4g LTE router with an aerial. It works with a poor mobile signal. Who transmits at your nearest mobile base station?

Almost anyone is cheaper than TIM. for my mobile I use Tiscali, which rides on Tim signals and repeaters, but it costs half the price of TIM:
If you have adsl on a fixed line, you have numerous options especially as the government 'should' be providing fibre to home. Almost all FTTH packages cost less that what you are paying TIM for adsl. For example - Tiscali 26.95 per month, 23 euros with Wind, 28 euros for vodafone and 27 euros for fastweb. Check if you can get fibre where you are. If you use the same adsl provider as your sim card you can get further discounts.

Cancelling TIM isnt so easy. The process takes a while and you will be still getting bills weeks afterwards. I would get started now.
I cancelled by sending the closure request by fax 800-000187. May be you can do that from the UK.

Starlink Satellite is currently €50,- per month in Italy but you have to purchase the Dish and hardware up front. €199,- one time payment. Speeds range between 100 - 200Mbps at the moment.

Sounds like last resort, but if you need (which you do) the net, then a choice. As Modi has indicated, there must be other options...

There's no need for satellite if the OP has a fixed line. I have no choice but to use satellite for internet, phone and tv and I use bigblu which is now owned by viacom - I pay 30 euros per month unlimited - but thats an old tariff and they may have changed.

Wow, that's really good. The last time I checked it was 100/month. In Spain it's now 70/month. For once Italy gets the best deal. At 50 it's well worth it. Out of curiosity, what are the upload and download speeds? If it's faster than fiber I may go for it as my fiber cable goes through about 20 poorly maintained trees so it breaks 2-3 times per year.

If, like us, you have a normal line, TIM will, amazingly, close your account straight away. They are not interested in keeping these lines. All it took was a phone call to 187.

Hi Nic, it was 100/month when we first got it. 7.9 Mbps upload, 30 Mbps download - don't ask me what that means, that is just the figures hubby just sent me.

My LTE modem gives the same performance and costs €12 per month (300GB). You need a decent 4g mobile signal to get that speed.
