Best bank in Italy (Puglia)?

I've been offered a job in Puglia and need to choose a bank ASAP. Can anyone recommend one of the following, please:
Unicredit
BNP Paribas
Banca Generali
Intesa Sanpaolo
BPER Banca

Thanks!

I think it is difficult to 'recommend' any particular bank. We use Intesa Sanpaulo and are pretty ok with it on the whole.

When I moved to Italy the estate agent opened an account with Monti di Paschi.Soon got fed up with them especially the cost.Opened an on line account with Fineco and they were really good never had a problem but that was several years ago.

We use Intesa Sanpaolo and are happy with them. Their mobile app is easy to use.
So far as I can tell all Italian banks are expensive compared to the UK.

Deutsche Bank Italy should be all right too - they might not have many branches (and cash machines) in Apulia.

It's nominally a German bank - I don't trust my money with the Italians.

There was something on the news yesterday about increased powers to sieze money in bank accounts.

:-o Cheers for the heads-up, philat.

Well the Italians can do what the Chinese communists do - I only ever keep 10-20 euros in my Italian bank account. Pity these beggars.

I assume you need an Italian address to register with them? I.e. I can't do it before I've found somewhere to live?

You should reserve a whole morning or afternoon for opening an account.

Thanks. The job offer has now gone since they wanted me to start on Monday with no regard for the time it takes to set up my life in a new country...
