Anyone in Modena?
Hi
Moved to Modena from Nottingham two months ago. No shortage of Italian friends but looking for some British people in or near Modena to have an occasional tea/chat with! Cheers |
Re: Anyone in Modena?
We're about 20 mins from Modena. Originally from London but moved to Derby which is also the next town to you :) if you're bored stop in, we both work from home so are in most days.

Re: Anyone in Modena?
Hi there,
I've been in the Modena area for the past 3 years, and now live in the centre. I've just had a baby but once things have calmed down a bit I'd be happy to meet up- in fact, I may well be desperate for adult company! You can send me a message on here. K |
Re: Anyone in Modena?
Hi. I just arrived in Maranello last weekend, from Worcestershire originally. I'm still all a bit bogged down with the practicalities of getting sorted and moving into our new place next week, but after that, I'd love to start making some friends and a bit of English chat now and again would be fabulous!

Steph Welcome to the province of Modena! There are loads of "Ferrari wives" so I'm sure you'll meet up with lots of people soon! Are you staying in Maranello village? I'd definitely recommend finding something to do with your time once you've got settled, even if it's only Italian lessons in town. I'm in Modena (but not connected to Ferrari!), feel free to get in touch if you need any help/ fancy a cuppa! K |
Re: Anyone in Modena?
Hi K! I've met a couple of Ferrari wives already which is lovely - a few home comforts makes it all far less daunting! Yes, we're in the Village at the moment, but moving to a nice little place in San Dalmazio at the end of week, nice as the hotel is, it doesn't feel much like a home.
I think Italian lessons are going to be a must. I already speak a little, but hate being one of those English people who don't speak the lingo - any suggestions on a good teacher locally? I may well also take you up on that offer of a cuppa when I'm settled, thanks! :) Steph |
Re: Anyone in Modena?
Good to hear you're getting to know a few people!
I can't help much with Italian teachers as I already spoke Italian when I came here, but there is a school that deals exclusively in Italian for foreigners, so that may be a good place to start. It's called Romanica and is in central Modena. Looking forward to meeting you soon, keep in touch! K |
