Amazon Purchases

I have never bought anything on Amazon but I desperately need 2(200 x 100 cm) new matresses for my German size bed 2 x 2 m. I have found them on amazon.de as follows

http://www.amazon.de/Badenia-Bettcom...3700988&sr=1-5

but it says that shipment is only possible in Germany. Anyone got some advice how I can solve this problem?
Tia
Cheryl

P.S. I have also found a local producer who said he would make them for me but at € 175,- each; I wasn't too keen.....

You clever girl Lorna, didn't think of that, did I! Really showing my IT ignorance,:) I was so pleased to have found them here in Italy then I saw the price! Any idea why they charge 69,95 if you buy it in Germany and 83,77 in Italy?

Yeah they have the same thing but instead of 70 Euro it costs 84 Euro.

However at least you can return it free of charge if they are not what you want. Also worth signing up to Amazon Prime, not sure if they do the 30 day free trial, as you will get things faster.

I ordered some toys on Thursday 8 and they were delivered on Sat 10th!

Could be all manner of things, you need to check all the national sites to compare prices. Sometimes the IT site is cheaper.

Just bought them this morning at 88 euros which in my eyes is still a bargain. Don't know what the IT site is and OH is getting a bit annoyed I'm spending so much time on the computer;) but I do think I have just discovered a whole new way of shopping:thumbsup:
Thanks for your help.

P.S.
order says they will arrive from 16-19th December ..... we'll see!

In this case, IT just means the Italian site rather than the UK one.

It's worth checking out both sites in the future to see which Amazon has the cheapest price. Duffer noticed recently that some Lego kits were cheaper on Amazon Italy ... probably because Lego isn't as huge here yet as it is in the UK.
Other stuff is cheaper on the UK site and the UK site has a lot more products and choice in many departments.

Happy shopping :D

Well, I wasn't exaggerating when I said I'm IT ignorant, was I:) Hope Duffer's comments won't be too harsh.:o

No comment. Just a virtual slap.

Re: Amazon Purchases

The difference might be due to shipping costs but is more likely due to tax differences between selling in Germany and Italy. I understand doing business in Italy is more expensive than doing business in Italy ...... unless of course you pay cash ...... but I guess that is no good for Amazon.

Ouch.
I thought IT meant information technology and you were sending me to some highbrow website....now if you had written Italian, then I would have known what you were on about:thumbup:

Mind you I am making progress (well, I think so) because I sent a mail to my sister and asked her what she thought of my new emoticon and she wrote back asking what is was...now if I had said Smilies.

Still, live and learn, I say.

I think it may be the shipping costs too because after all they are coming from Germany and forwarders have one rate for national deliveries and another for abroad. Let's face it, I am not exactly round the corner down here at the end of the world..... Amazon says the goods were picked up on the 13th and should be here on the 19th.

Or maybe it's Monti's new VAT prices:eek:

I'm afraid I need some more help:o
How do I trace the shipment? I have followed the instructions on the mail received from Amazon but it just says it was collected and give a shipment number and the forwarder is SDA. I went on SDA's website and put in the number but it says it's not correct. What now? Below is the number.

Numero identificativo della spedizione: 957571608024F

Re: Amazon Purchases

The numbers that Amazon give out never ever work on the SDA tracking thing.

I've emailed both Amazon and SDA about this but they obviously haven't taken any notice.

I don't get it , the numbers that Amazon give on their site click straight though to the courier .I did this this morning and warned my husband that SDA were on their way I could also see that my brother had received his stuff in Glasgow . I click on the number without going to the SDA site.
