Cool Alitalia check in online. Your experience

I have never checked in online before nor used Alitalia. Can someone who has done this tell me how easy (or not) it is with Alitalia eg do we need to print boarding passes ourselves or can we print them at a kiosk? Just wondered how much time it saved. They are the major Italian airline so I imagine there are many kiosks at any airport for this? We are travelling from Cagliari to Barcelona with transit in Milano.

Any real advice from someone who has done with with Alitalia appreciated (not just a link to their website- )I have seen those

Ciao ciao

Not me, but son uses Alitalia to Rome regularly. He doesn't print the boarding pass. Just asked. He clicks on the option send email and then shows his iPad or phone at check in if he has baggage or directly at the border control if he doesn't have baggage. Then again at the gate.

I use Alitalia quite often. Flights to and from Cagliari. Check in is easy but only available 48 hours from departure. ie you can only print out your boarding card 48 hours before your flight. The site is very good. Very easy to flip into English. I usually use the co.uk site. I once had to pay I think €60 but with Ryan Air, to have a boarding pass printed at the airport when my mother lost her's. So I would suggest, to answer your question, it's probably best to print out your own boarding pass prior to departure or as 37100 (is possibly trying to say) you can take a bar code shot if you have a smart phone. That said, boarding passes and bar codes check-ins are only available 48 hours prior to departure.
