We have recieved the following update from our UniGroup Relocation Network global offices:
A nationwide indefinite dockworker strike is planned to begin Monday, March 9, 2015 in India, threatening to disrupt the country's transport systems. Trade unions have called for the strike as workers are opposing the "unilateral decision of the Shipping Ministry to corporatize the country's major ports." Currently, there are 12 major ports in India including Nhava Sheva, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad that may be affected. Scheduled meetings with the Indian Ports Association are scheduled to begin on March 9.
