Household Goods Container Costs Update - March 22

Hi everyone, a quick update on the shipping industry that may be affecting BE members....

If you're currently getting quotes from International Removal Companies you may be starting to hear that the household goods shipping industry is seeing increased freight rates from shipping lines. These are a result of the global shipping industry challenges that have arisen since the start of the pandemic.
As a member of the British Association of Removers Bournes uses the Movers Trading Club (MTC) to provide ocean freight services to secure the most competitive freight rates for our customers.
The MTC has provided the following update on the current shipping market which we wanted to share as it provides a useful understanding of why we are seeing freight rate increases and some service-level challenges, and the scale of the rate increases with examples for different routes.

Household Goods Shipping Update - March 2022

If you have any questions about the update or how you can plan for and minimise the impact of these shipping challenges on your move please just ask and we'll do what we can to help.
