I re-read your post and its a fairly open question...

Stands to reason there's more job opportunities the bigger the city =
Sydney, Mel, Bris/Perth (not sure the biggest) but that was the order of job ads I saw when checking for myself on seek.com.au

Depending on your situation though you should also consider house prices, commute times, lifestyle, competition for jobs etc. etc...

Nobodys gonna hand you job on a plate but hope that puts some perspective on it for you.

I know nobody will offer me a job just like that ;-)

What I really meant was are there equal number of IT jobs in smaller cities like Perth as one would find in bigger cities like Sydney especially System/Network Admin jobs.

By the way which city did you finally decide to settle and work?

Melbourne - (in Networks/security) but am yet to find out if its a choice work-wise
