IT Security work in Canada?

Hey people! Anyone know of the current market state in Canada for Information Security Professionals? Perhaps some of you guys actually in Canada now?

I'm looking to get CISSP qualification as it seems most jobs ask for that but currently working as a Pen tester / security consultant for large UK company and I'm a certified ethical hacker (CEH accreditation).

Anyone?

If you are looking at consulting try the big four firms. I work for one of them in Vancouver in IT Advisory and they are desperate for staff at the moment and recruiting like there's no tomorrow!

Calgary is a really hot market at the moment!

Hi there

I am currentyl working in IT as an ORACLE DBA / Analyst programmer (6yrs)

Unfortunately I don't have a degree standard education everything has been taught by industry trainers such as ORACLE courses SQL / PLSQL / XML / ITIL / PRINCE2 etc etc.

The reason for this is I have spent 22yrs in the Army and am due to leave end of this year.

Is there anyway some of the companies you referd to above would take me on under these terms as you said they were recruiting like mad.

I have come to the conclusion the only way for us into Canada is the Provisional Nominee Route (PNP) route as my primary trade of Heavy Haulage Driver where they are also recruiting like no tomorrow.

Can you supply the name of the companie you mentioned please so I could have a look at them.

Cheers Dave
