Project Manager in IT looking for work in Perth
 

I am a Project Manager in IT and looking to go to the Perth area. (November). I have worked for the same place for 16 years now (starting at the bottom) and I am Prince 2 qualified. Would like to secure a job before we go, but willing to get contacts and set up interviews once I can confirm my moving date.

Any ideas would be helpful. Going on a 136 visa.

Just had a look on seek and there was 250 project manager jobs in Perth alone. This is great news.

Well, I am a Project Manager too, though with only 3 yrs of work ex, in process of getting CAPM certified and looking to move to Perth in April- May 2008. I'd feel better if I had a few interviews lined up for when I get there, if not a job in hand..

Any idea if any employers would be willing to sponsor me? I need a work visa... and they all seem to be willing to talk to you ONLY if you already have a visa!! Its so frustrating!

Any thoughts, anyone? :(

I couldn't get an interview before I got out here but once I was here I got a job within 2 weeks. There is loads of Jobs out here but as you say no one will entertain you until your out here.

I dont know how you go about getting a sponsor as I came out on a 136 visa with my IT background.

You could try Poms in Perth as I have seen some ads and they say they will sponsor.
