IT Professional to IT Recruiter
Having worked in NZ for about 3 years, I find New ZeaLAND to be a LAND of 5 employers and 500 recruitment agencies
Even though I have a degree in Computer Engg/Science, I fancy being an IT recruiter in NZ. Also, I find decent recruiters in NZ earn around 200K/year.
Working in IT space for nearly 10 years, I have handled recruitments (directly or indirectly) at all levels, though I would not officially tag myself as an IT recruiter.
Is it possible to get a break into an IT Recruitment firm in New Zealand even though my past experience has been only pure IT work.
Having spent 3 years in NZ, I understand the job market well, few contacts but growing rapidly, in-depth understanding of various tools/technologies and excellent relationship management skills.
Does anyone know of any IT recruitment firm in NZ who may be ready to consider someone who cannot be labelled as a recruiter but has a good understanding of the NZ IT industry.
