Time for a Sub Forum for Indonesia Perhaps?

One glaring omission in the Sub Forum group of countries is surely Indonesia.

So many folk, especially from Australia move over there either to work or retire besides all the visitors to Bali and Lombok.

I have heard it mentioned time and time again by hardened travellers as a place they would consider to settle.

An absolutely fascinating country on many levels....

Yup, I think it's a good idea, but it's up to Sue really. I shall ask. Are you volunteering to be Concierge? ;) <joke> I think Davita knows a lot about Indonesia too. He's mentioned before.

I'm sure there are many folk with far more up to date knowledge on that country.

Actually a little surprised not more interest shown in establishing such a forum.

Seems to me the next logical country in the South East Asian region that deserves it's own place.

Cheers Sue  I'll have a look through Far East forum over the weekend and see if we can find some more threads lurking. I'm not familiar with all the Indonesian towns and areas, so if anyone finds any that we've missed, please give me a nudge.

That's good news. With Bali and Lombok being so popular with folk there should be a whole pile of comments, questions and answers for those wanting to holiday, conduct business or retire there.

Great stuff and grand work all concerned. Where could we look into a thread for next? Perhaps a joint Cambodia & Lao PDR one at some stage?

A Cambodia/Lao section would be wonderful. Never been to Lao but a few years ago my hubby & I did 3 weeks volunteering in Cambodia. A most rewarding experience but its essential to have empathy with & love kids.

Phnom Penh where there are many children in need of loving care & assistance. Much more rewarding experience than spending our holidays living it up in some luxury resort !

good for you , flying to PP on boxing day for our holidays. Looking forward to that.

I'll just be taking care of my own children though. That will be hard enough.

O Dear - you sound just like my hubby !

If I correctly recall, the promenade is cool for walks until about 11 AM.

Just taking care of my kids is all the exercise I need. They will be four and five when we go so they're a bit of a handful .

Sounds good but my children never wear themselves out. As long as there is beer that's the main thing.
