Interesting enough William Dalrymple has just published a book on the rape of India by the East India company.The Anarchy. He agrees with you the article that without Indian money flooding into the UK The Industrial Revolution would not have taken place.The Navigation Acts helped of course but in essence it was Indian silver that drove the economy upwards and in india the condition of Indian peasantry downwards. Simple formula really. We taxed the peasants and used the money to purchase British goods, that they were forbidden to manufacture like textiles,then we sold them it to them at higher price than normal.Profits at both ends....
