Summer Schools - Mumbai
 

Hello,

I am currently researching summer schools/camps on behalf of my boss. He is planning to spend around two months in Mumbai between June and August next year. He, along with his wife, will be working but they wish that there young children could attend some sort of summer camp/school for part of the trip, thus giving them the opportunity to experience another culture etc.

I've been trying to find information about these sorts of activities, but I thought this forum would be able to point me in the right direction as it appears to be a wealth of knowledge. I understand that the normal summer holidays in Mumbai are around April, so I guess thats when most of these activities would take place.

I would be very grateful of any advice that anyone could offer.

First of all welcome to BE and the India forum.

I don;t know about the summer schools but some of our other members who are living in the Mumbai area may be along to advise soon.

The first question I would ask is whether your boss for whom you are researching is aware that the time of year he is looking at being there is in fact monsoon. This means heavy rains and the worst of the year's humidity. This brings the mosquitoes out in force (Malaria is a serious reality there) and there are also other obvious health risks to be aware of.

Not trying to put you off but more making you aware of some of the things that your boss will need to be aware of, especially when considering putting his/her kids into summer camps.

The season for the better weather tends to run from late October to March (April is OK for some folks but very very hot and humid, as is May) - this may be a better time of year for kids attending camp type activities, although please note that malaria prevention is a must any time of the year.
