Default Passage To India

I read the book but have not seen this film version. The book semed tro me a great depiction of thhe Raj at its intolerant and racist height.

I thought the film was very good, particularly the 'acting' of Peggy Ashcroft and Alec Guinness.

Also the TV version of Raj Quartet (Jewel in the Crown), I thought was better than the book (which was over-long). ----Peggy Ashcroft again.

A comedian----was it Lenny Henry??----doing "The jewel in India's Back Passage"----
