Default PIO - new passport endorsement necessary ?

Need urgent advise...

I have a Son who is Canadian born. he had a canadian passport issued when was an infant (<1 yr old). We also had got a PIO card issued from Indian Consulate in Canada.

Recently, my sons Canadian passport had expired. we got a new passport for him Canada. is it necessary to get the PIO card endorsed with new passport ? I'm afraid, i may not be having enough time as i'm planning to visit India (Bangalore) with my son on 29th Dec.

Please advise.

No personal experience as we have OCI and 5yr X, but I have read on the Indiamike Forum that if you carry both old and new passports it will be OK.
I presume you are now in UK and would suggest that you contact the Indian Consulate today to enquire (it will be closed on 25th and 26th).
