Danish Colonies in India

Many of us know of the former Portuguese pr4esence. Some may have a knowledge of French possessions. How many knew that The Kingdom of Denmark controlled parts of India ? I was reminded of thois while listening to a radio documentary on BBC Radio 4.

I see I may be alone in my exotic interests in the far-off past of dead empires !

The Danish were small coastal trade stations and taken over by the British. (It wasn't always 'exotic' for the people living under European 'Empire' rules)!

No. And certainly in the Danish West indies life was very tough for the colonial subjects. Did things get better when the Danish West Indies were sold off to The USA ?
