Hi all,

Are you able to work in the same industry for another employer if you meet your visa requirements for your current employer, as my friend has the opportunity to work some overtime for me doing the same work?

Cheers

Ron

The main applicant on a 457 visa can only work for the sponsoring employer.

So just say, I'm also employed as a sub-contractor for his employer and theoretically we both work for the employer, I wouldn't be able to give him the overtime, even so the work is coming from the same employer

That's right. You are not the sponsoring employer. You sub-contract for the sponsor.

Nope. Are you referring to yourself sponsoring him? If so, have you looked into what is involved in being a sponsor?

You can only have one visa at a time and the 457 visa only has one sponsor. If you wanted to sponsor him, he would have to give up the other job and you would have to meet the requirements of a sponsor.
