Hi all

I was just wondering how long vetassess took to let you know if you have passed or failed the paper based assessment after they have taken payment

thanks

hi sarah

he's going for carpenter and joiner, agent advised us

vetassess said they go by what most of his experience is in, but as he mostly does kitchens he's worried their gonna ask him to make a window or roof he can do it but it's been a few years

Hey Lazylou,

we received the Competency Profile Asessment sheet (your pass proof basically) 19 days after posting it to them (so allowing for 5 days to get there and then 5 days for them to send it to us, they took about 9 days to process it, seems like longer the wait was agonising but worth it. Good luck

Thanks Shona

did you receive an email to acknowledge they had received your application, they took the money beginning of last week and we wondered if they would contact to say they were processing the application, if not i'm not that worried i have full confidence that the O/H will pass (i know i did most of the work filling it out)

thanks again

Hey Louisa,

The only acknowledgement we had was the receipt/invoice saying they had taken payment which was sent through the post, but other wise we just waited knowing that they had at least received it. We were also pretty confident the paper based application would be passed but it is agonising (i filled out OH's paperwork also). Knowing we have now made the December practical is great we really would like to apply for visas in january (hoping he passes of course) and then with any luck go and validate in the six weeks holiday, but there is a lot of waiting involved and you have to try and be patient, hope you hear soon x

Hi Shona

we had hoped to get to do the december practical but his work took ages getting the paperwork he needed together. I saw from a previous thread that your O/H is a mechanic, same here so you will have to let us know what he had to do,

Hey everyone, have received information from vetassess our practical assessment is on the 10th december for 2 days, the only negative thing for us is its in Birmingham and we thought they were holding one in London, travelling time etc a bit of a pain. Been reading all the info though, gotta take loads of tools and protective equipment etc. Exciting though, things are moving now x

Hey Caroline

Yes Vetassess emailed me today with date of assessment, place, address etc, then added attachment with all details on what tools to take (as a mechanic loads of spanners, wrench's and things) so depends what you would have to take as a joiner etc, they did list everything required so im sure they will with you. We are looking into finding a B & B as he has to be there at 8:30am and its a long drive from Essex. They said to allocate two full days but it might not take that long. x Hope you hear soon.

Louisa will let you know what it involves after the assessment for your OH.
