We submitted our application 31st May 2001. Medicals and Police checks
handed in New Years Eve 2002. Just wondering if there is anyone else
still waiting for their final decision?

Hi we are waiting ( applied feb 01) medicals and police checks sent 18th Nov 02 they were delt with 25th Feb 03. ( processing time 3 months if thats a help ) Recieved letter 28th feb and although police checks were clear ,we had told them in are application that there was a driving conviction 11 years ago they now require a statement about the conviction. Also as we had just been married we had to send a ( we were told ) certified photo copy of the marriage cert . They now say they want a certified copy not a certified photo copy. This is going to take possible another 3 months as you have to wait for the mail to be opened and they are 3 months behind. SO yours must be quite soon.
good luck

You should not mislead people into thinking the mail is 'not been
opened'. Of course it's being opened - how on earth do you think they
are stamping visas in passports or dealing with other high priority
matters?
The time it takes to *process* certain items of mail is another
question.

Hi Liz and Mark
Painful isnt it!
Its spooky! Your situation is very similar to ours. My husband also
had a minor conviction from 17yrs ago, and we only got married
recently. It was a certified photocopy of our marriage certificate
that we sent in straight after we got married. We heard from AHC when
it was time to do our medicals, and they asked for my husbands work
record to be bought right up to the day we first put our application
in. (There was a short fall from having them done and sending in the
application). But nothing was said about our marriage certificate
being a certified photocopy. Because of our marriage we have just had
all our passports changed. I don't know if it was necessary but we
have written to them and informed them of the change with the new
passport numbers included. Hopefully so we won't have to wait extra
time at the end. We too also had to send a statement in about my
husbands conviction, we did this with the original application but
they still asked for it again, even though we had already sent one in
with all our docs indexed.
Are you as sick of being asked "Have you heard anything yet" as I am?
Best wishes to you both. Hope you hear soon especially as you have
been waiting longer than us.

Hi
please dont worry.. we were asked for a certified photo copy
we were married 9th Nov 02 and I took the marriage cert the following week to the solicitors and they photo copied it and stamped it and signed it. For what ever reason the 1st person at AHC said that it looked like a photo copy of a photo copy I insisted that this was not the case and was told to re do it. I spoke to the solicitor because in my eyes if they did it again it is only going to look the same.they advised me to get the vicar to do another copy, which is what we did.
Spoke to 2nd person at AHC who said they did not want a photo copy. so your guess is as good as mine.
Best wishes

Hi Liz and Mark
All I'd say is don't believe everything you are told, especially if
it's not remotely plausible.
She probably meant to say *processing* post. A different concept
entirely.
