Yay We can finally be added to the list
We applied for our visa today online. Still have some documents we need to get certified and get the meds done but will do that in the next few days and then its down to the waiting
We hope to be in Perth in February.

We are also December applicants
and are hoping to be in Melbourne February / March 2008. We have meds booked for the 18th, going to York who do E-Meds, then the waiting begins, hopefully they won't anything else from us and we will have the visa by the end of JanGood Luck with yours

Amen to that! Would be a lovely xmas pressie that. Unfortunately I need to wait for my Victoria Licence now before they issue the visa. Am still hoping we hear before xmas though.

My employer in Sydney have applied 457 on 7th dec. They say it willn't take more than 3-4 weeks because they have very good reputation with immi..
My employer firm is big gaint in IT industry. So, I would like to understand from you guys experience that whether it is possible to get 457 visa in 3-4 weeks time.

but dont bank on it

and they both applied be4 me in julies case 2 months before me
my partner is in the high volatage electricity works for a very big company in perth ( wa) they had sponsered be4 as well.
red roger also got his visa in a month and he was based in sydney and the visa application was done by sydney

Medical done and received by immigration office as per courier status I checked online.
Lets see what happens, basically I have resigned my current company and 31st is my last day.
PS: I am working in singapore now.

I think this is because most are still waiting for their nursing registrations when they apply for the visa. I've been registered since April so I guess this is just how long Brisbane must be taking at the moment. Looking at the timeline about 2 months seems to be the average

Well its ten weeks since we applied tomorrow! No movement at all for five of those very long weeks. My husband's company have never sponsored before so we reckon this is the hold up. I just wish they would ask for some further info or something just so we know its being dealt with. I'm going mad at work because I still haven't told my employer, we were hoping to know by Christmas so I could hand in my notice.
Ah well, they will have to let us know eventually!

hi just wanted to pop back and say hi and good luck to all you waiting.yes it can get very stressful at times and the limbo feeling is awful..but hey been here 9wks and absolutely luvn it!!weather fab,kids having a great time,met lots of realy nice people , so hang in there its definately worth it

Hi all. Please can you advise. I agreed a contract with my future amployer a couple of weeks ago and had a e mail saying they would start the ball rolling for the visas. I have never done anything like this before so could do with all the help i can get. Basically, i havent done anything from my end. But are there things i am supposed to be doing / forms to fill out etc. We are pretty ignorant of all of this - it was only by reading here that i discovered we will need medicals. Time isnt a issue, as we cant go till end of May at the earliest.

Hi all. Please can you advise. I agreed a contract with my future amployer a couple of weeks ago and had a e mail saying they would start the ball rolling for the visas. I have never done anything like this before so could do with all the help i can get. Basically, i havent done anything from my end. But are there things i am supposed to be doing / forms to fill out etc. We are pretty ignorant of all of this - it was only by reading here that i discovered we will need medicals. Time isnt a issue, as we cant go till end of May at the earliest.
