WHERE TO FIND PLACE OF ISSUE ON PASSPORT PLEASE?

Hi i am filling in the 1085 form and it is asking for 'issuing authority' i have an idea but want to double check anyway, don't want one tiny little thing jepoardising my application. Is it the code 'GBR' at the top of the passport or is it the Authority 'IPS' down the bottom right? May sound thick but it's always best to check :P Thanks in advance, Sarah.

Assuming you're talking about a British passport, it is IPS (which stands for Identity & Passport Service). It should say 'Authority' above it.

It has changed recently, mine was IPS, my wife's newer passport referred to GBR I think.

It used to be UKPA - now it's IPS. GBR isn't the authority that issues it.
