Default applied for 176, grant letter says 175, huh??!!

I had applied for 176, or specifically 175, visa back in December 2009. At that time you could start with 175 then when you get state sponsorship it turns in to a 176. So that's what I did, in fact my agent did. I received sponsorship from Western Australia and signed the agreement in June 2010.

After a long agonizing wait complete with a couple of scares, I got grant letter today.

In my grant leter it says "Subclass 175 independent".

I'm guessing may be somehow my ss documents got lost or something? Have any of you people seen anything like this?

I understand DIAC people have their hands full & requesting them to sort through my old documents may delay other people's cases. As I had received WA ss, I intend to abide by the agreement that I signed even if it is not used.

Can anyone please suggest if I should contact my CO with this issue?

Thanks.

You have your PR visa, why complicate it? The last thing you want is getting someone who doesn't know what they are doing and goes and cancels it on you.

You have your PR, and regardless you still intend to stay in the state, so enjoy.

Oh and a big congrats by the way

Congratulations and don't worry about it. You have your visa and consider the 175 a bonus.
