Hello

We rec'd a letter from the DIAC acknowleging our Visa applications late March for 176 Visa's, they said they were currently processing 16th September 2007 Applicants, how come 6 months later there only processing the 19th September applicants??? - Only moved on 3 days in 6 months ????, surely this isnt right?., I imagined them to be on December/Jan ones. Anyone know whats happening????

There is currently a delay in the processing of applications due to the 20,000 paper-based applications lodged in August 2007 (before the switch to the new rules in September 2007) which apparently they are clearing first before moving forward with the others.

On the other hand, many people here can attest that the email updates from ASPC on a weekly basis is not a true reflection of the actual dates they are currently processing. Rather they are conservatively showing in the emails the last remaining applications lodged on that date that have not yet been assigned a CO.

If you have a look at www.beupdate.co.uk you can see the timelines for people who have submitted applications. From this you can see that a lot of online applicants from both December and January have been allocated case officers and have even had visa's granted including the 176. (We also applied for a 176 visa but ours was submitted on 1st March).

The timelines were changed in the last few days and you can now search on paper based applicants and online ones. You will see that Paper based applicants are being processed a lot slower so it depends how you have applied.
