Default What's the cut off age for a teenager going on parents visa?

Hi

My sister's applying for a visa and has a daughter who'll be 15 in May. Is the cut off age before having to apply for a personal visa for her 16 or 18 or have I got it all about face?

Also how long does a visa normally take to come through these days? She's just got her skills assessment approved and is trying to work out how long before she's likely to need medicals.

Thanks so much

I think as stated it is under 18, but if on a temporary visa, they may not be eligable to stay when they become dependant, but will be ok if on a permanent visa. just a though, but sure someone more in the know could confirm this.
