Hi all

We're may 07 applicants 136modl visa got a case worker on 3rd September medicals and police checks were already sent hubby's police check was issued in April 07 we have had the house on the market from July and have no offers I know the police check is valid for a year.

.................we weren't ready to go b4 april?

You MUST enter the country before April........You could just validate ithe visa and then return when your house is sold

I am no expert but from previous posts have read that you can get an extension for validation if exceptional circumstances not sure not being able to sell house would count.

You could go on a holiday to validate - obviously if you can afford too.

I am sure that your house will sell before April though! The market has been really slow since about June but seems to be picking up slightly also there are rumours that the BOE are going to drop interest rates tomorrow so this might help.

We are also in the same situation our house has been on market since April but we have until July 08 to validate ours - scary isn't it?

We started this process back in Jan and can't believe how fast the last 10 months have gone.

Other option is you could sell to a company that offer 80 -95% value of the house again if you can afford to loose the equity.

I sort of knew that we would have to validate before April just hope the housing market picks up again soon saying that at the moment i am just waiting on the visa

You could re-do your police checks and this will give you extra time. Its 1 year from the date of meds or police checks whichever is first.
