What documents for Partner Visa?

Hi all,

In regards to the partner visa. Can I ask to anyone who has had their partner visa granted, what documents/evidence did you send along with your application? My husband and I are married with two children but I've read a marriage certificate is simply not enough evidence. We have details from our bank regarding things like our mortgage and life assurance. We've had a joint account for years also but it's more the social aspect we're worried about. I can't find much with both our names on. We don't have any wedding invitations saved. We've plenty of photographs of holidays etc but nothing to prove dates. Can I ask what evidence you sent to prove the social aspect of your relationship please.

Thanks in advance 🥰

Re: What documents for Partner Visa?

Hi There
you sound in a similar position to us. We submitted my hubbies partner application on 1st April....heard nothing yet other than automated confirmation it’s been received.
We struggled with the social aspect despite 16 years of marriage. I dug out old photos of us together that documented specific dates eg my graduation, wedding day, holiday snaps against identifiable backdrops (which tied in with holiday visas in our passports), our zero birthdays, wedding anniversaries plus family shots that included our children getting older each year. We managed to provide one photo for each year of our relationship and tied it all together in the written section. We also submitted 2 witness testimonies (form 888? If I recall correctly) from a neighbour who has lived nearby for years and from a family member as well. I can’t promise it’s enough as we are still waiting but it all seemed logical to us. We didn’t use an agent; perhaps this sort of info is what they earn their money for.

good luck!
