we got it!.. and this is our timeline...
(no agent used)
Strarted the whole TRA off beginning of JAN
Completed it by beginning of FEB.
Sent off TRA second week of FEB and had the result returned by post in 3 weeks.
Visa application received in adelaide 19th March.
16.5.07 acknowledgement and case officer assigned.
6.8.07 visa granted.
From working on tra to receiving visa it took 7 months and 1 week
(could have been less, but we left an old passport number off which took almost 40 days to obtain!)
oh well we've got it now and it feels great - just got to sell our house

Ours could have been about the same had the Mrs not gone and broke her leg last week.
Gotta ring DIAC up tonite and see what advice they can give were sposed be validating by 14 dec, that just aint going to happen.
Just have a few glasses of wine for me tonite.
