Default WAPol recruitment - son with ASD

Hi, my husband has over 10 years experience with police scotland and is considering applying for WAPol. The only thing is our 7 year old Son has ASD and we've been told he would fail the medical part of the visa? Has anyone heard anything about this? Thanks

Probably worth a consultation with a migration agent, as it can mean a refusal, but depends on the individual case.
Try someone like George Lombard, https://playfair.com.au/team/george-lombard/ lots of experience in this area.

Ditto recommendation to talk to George Lombard.

ASD is just a label, it is the impact of the disability which is going to determine whether or not he will fail the medical. In general there is a bit of a catch 22. If the child is eligible for disability support in school then they will likely fail the medical and be denied a visa. If they dont fit the eligibility criteria for disability support then you may get a visa but they will be on their own in school.

Thank you for your help, he requires help in school at the moment and attends a supported learning centre which is joined on to our local main stream school. He is taught by a special needs teacher and there are a few classroom assistants, he would not be able to go to mainstream as he has delayed development. I've no idea if there's similar schools in WA where children with special needs attend?
