Hi Rocket1, that's exactly what we're planning to do! Live in NL (thought we'd have the visa by now, haha how naive were we-oh well it's 18 months and counting...) and leave here next week (yeeeee haaaaa) for Xmas and NY in the UK. Then leaving in Jan for a few months backpacking in Asia with a ticket to Oz. We just filled in a form 1022 Change of Circumstance telling CO of our plans. JUST MAKE SURE YOU TELL DIAC!
Worst case scenario, we're away and get refused the visa (the CO has everything now so fingers crossed) so we'll just holiday in Oz for a few weeks at hubby's sister's then we'll reassess the situation!

Only problem now is-which flights? Hubby wants to get one way tik with a few stopovers as we can get discount with Hi Fix but I'm more inclined to get a RWT so at least if it's a NO from DIAC, we have a return ticket. Have to make a decision soon, though!!!

Any voters on who is right? (me or the hub hahahah!) It's causing no end of spats and here we thought the last few weeks would be full of drunken goodbyes.....

Best of luck with your plans!

H x
