Re: waiting time
Anything from 2 weeks to 2 months from the day that the PCC are delivered to the ASPC. It takes about 2 weeks to get onto the file and onto the Case Officer's desk. Some will action immediately, some may be slower, some may be on holiday - so hopefully closer to the 2 weeks that the 2 months.

Re: waiting time
Nobby, it would be really useful to know how old your police checks were when they were deemed 'expired'. Were they a year old, or less than a year? I ask because we may also need to get our redone. Many thanks.

Re: waiting time
I think police checks are valid for a year.
Also, have you looked at www.austimeline.com - you might be able to guage how long processes take after submitting your documents.
The waiting drove me mad, but not long to go for you now!!!
Keep us posted!

Re: waiting time
Here's a more detailed question. If Police checks are valid from, say May 2005 and a visa is due to be granted in March/April 2006, is DIMIA likely to ask for new PCCs? The police checks will be less than a year old when being considered by a CO, but are likely to be more than a year old when validation happens. Anyone have any experience of this? Thanks.

Normally DIMIA officers faced with a short period for validation will give you the choice of doing the police clearances again or validating during the period available.
