WA STATE GOVERNMENT RELEASES STATE PRIORITY OCCUPATION LIST

Hi All

CAUTION : (Not to be confused with State migration Lists :fingerscrossed:)

WA state government releases state priority occupation list.

The Western Australia Department of Training and Workforce Development has released its state priority occupation list. The State priority occupation list is an annually produced list of jobs that are in high demand or considered industry-critical in Western Australia.

The list will inform Western Australian workforce development planning, the skilled migration occupation list and the development of the State Training Plan, which guides the funding of training programs.
This list is NOT the eagerly anticipated WA State Migration Plan sponsorship list, which will hopefully be released later this month. :frown:

However, it gives a good snap-shot of what may appear on the soon to be released WA State Migration Plan sponsorship list. It also gives an idea of what jobs are likely to be available in the state of WA.

Hi Bob,

This was announced in June. Given that your list includes cooks and hairdressers it's not going to be all that close to the final SMP. Also the IT occupation descriptors would need an overhaul.

Cheers,

George Lombard

George,

Given that the codes are in ANZSCO, this document can't be too outdated .

Furthermore, a skill which was in TOP demand should appear in the SMP list, right ?. Your comments please...

Cheers,

TAA

Guys

I just dunno want to create any controversial situation here. and just thought this information would be useful so put it in the forum.

No offence George  but I just read something that I came across and as foha said what I too felt that if one particular skill is required in a state, state will possibly put it across in possible SMP.All in all we will have a rough idea of whats happening.

I thought would be logical to see that way " old demand and supply rule:D".

Rest , Few days are left for SMPS to come so keep your :fingerscrossed: for the clouds to get clear soon

cheers

while in an expo back in August, someone asked a member of the wa goverment about the list. If i remember correctly answer was the same what big george said, plus they mentioned their smp was created without using that list.
