Visas & Starting work in Oz!
Hi, we are being sponsored by my company for a 4 year Temporary Resident Visa
I wondered if i could start work in country prior to that being issued ?
say under a 90 day working visa ?

I believe that you can get what you call a 'Bridging Visa' which allows you to at least enter Oz and I beleive (although maybe wrong) to start working for the company sponsoring you.

Visa must be granted before applicant can start work (and usually before applicant can even arrive).

When I arrived in OZ, I lodged the application to 457 (business temp long stay) at the same time.. I was told I should wait for the visa granted to go to work. After about a month, I received the granted notification and then normal life...
After 2 weeks I went to DIAC just to have the visa labelled in the passport..
