Visa options at 45?
 

My partner has dual citizenship (Aus born, dual UK) and we are exploring migration to Aus.

On the plus side I have skilled profession (speech language pathologist) with 15 years experience of working with kids with rare conditions. But on the down side I turned 45 last year.

We are considering Melbourne, but have family in north QLD too.

Any ideas on visa options? would we only be open for spousal visa or are there other routes?
Would a migration agent provide better info than extensive searches of visa websites? Looking for recommendations of agents or at least an indication of initial consultation costs

Based on what you have written, a partner visa would likely be the only option. An agent will be able to give you a comprehensive overview of options including the various options for partner visas. An initial consultation should not be expensive either in absolute terms or in the context of any form of visa application.

Why would you not go with a partner visa? Looks like you've got a gold plated option right there. You're knocking on a bit and do beware that Australia is a very ageist place. Check out AHPRA for speech pathology registration requirements. Get your application in soon as possible rather than waiting and deliberating about it.
