If it's just for a holiday it would depend on your citizenship (passport) but if you're from the UK you only need an electronic travel authority (ETA).

If you're talking about moving permanently to Australia, you must apply for a visa the same as anyone else - it's only NZ citizens that can move to Australia on a special visa (although they remain temporary residents unless they qualify for PR in their own right).

No special privileges just because you are New Zealand residents.

Why? Australia is a different country to New Zealand so why wouldn't you have to go through all the visa applications again?

New Zealand is a different country to Australia but if you have permanent visa rights in Australia they carry over to New Zealand without a new application, several countries have immigration agreements that allow free travel and work rights to respective residents so its not as stupid a question as you make ot out to be.

Dot, I am constantly amazed by the tone of your posts and find many of them unbecoming of a moderator, you should be trying to help members not take every oportunity to slap them down mostly, for no good reason..

The "tone of my posts" as you say is that of a member of a forum. The fact that I also moderate has nothing to do with my asking a legitimate question. And quite simply, if you don't like what I post then don't read it.

Several countries? Which countries are these? (other than New Zealand).

Many countries offer rights to citizens of other countries, but it is virtually unknown to do so for non-citizen residents of other countries.

How else would you word such a question and why would you not ask it? She wasn't slapping anyone down imo. I'm not sure what tone Moderators should take, we are regular members of the forum first and foremost and have the (sometimes dubious) pleasure of moderating at the same time. I can only say what I have said many times before, all members, regardless of 'status', need to read what is written, not what they imagine they are reading.
