Visa

Does there be any jobs advertised on the site offering a 457 visa sponsorship for a Boilermaker or coded welder?

There is a jobs offered section to the forums - http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=82 but not that many jobs are offered as that is not the main aim of the site.

Have you considered the skilled PR route?

You have been asking the same question since 2012. If you had started the pr process then, you would already be in Oz.

If you post your points, we may be able to review and suggest options for getting more points. There are often things people miss.

Re: Visa

25 points for your age
0 points for English language ability
20 points for your work experience
10 points for qualifications
0 points for Australian qualifications
0 points for spouse skills
20 total points for work experience within Australia and overseas
0 points for language experience
0 points for regional study experience
0 points for State/Territory sponsorship
0 points for Professional Year
55 total points

I think if i did the english language tests and got a mark of seven in all four tests i would get the extra 5 points. Others wise i would need sponsorship. This way i could get the extra 5 points through the fact i would have worked in Australia for a year at my chosen occupation.

Take IELTS and problem solved.

How difficult are the tests? Has anyone had to do them?

Yes loads of people do them, most people applying these days anyway. It should pose no problem for a literate native English speaker.

If you are claiming points for Australian work experience, do you have the references to back that up. As BS says, lots of people do IELTS for the points - I did :)

Re: Visa

I suspected this was the case. A lot of people don't realize they need / can do ILETS but in reality most migrants do in order to get the points.

My advice is to revise before you do the test. There are books and web sites set up for revision.

Dominic34 Jan 18th 2014 11:12 pm

Re: Visa

Can you get the books anywhere? What are the online web sites?

Re: Visa

Sorry old sparkles but i don't have any Any Australian work experience. That's a mistake in my points tally.

Re: Visa

I know this question has been asked before. But no one seems to really answer it. What are the best book to buy in order to do some revision for the IELTS test? Some seem to just go and do the test and other seem to just panic.
