Help!


We have a visa 457 waiting to come through.
The 1st and 2nd part have been approved, just waiting on the last part.

Can we go on Holiday to Australia on a 651 eVisitor visa in the meantime?

a 651 visa will not affect the 457 visa application in any way?

Yes you can visit without it affecting your 457.
Good idea to let your case officer know you are applying for the evisitor though in case they are ready to grant the 457. If the 457 gets granted before the evisitor, the second one will cancel the first!

All we are waiting for is the final part of the 457 to come through.

The second part (nomination) was approved on 24th Sep 2014

Then I asked my agent, how long will it take for the 3rd and final part (visa Application) to be approved. and he answer was "how long is a piece of string" LOL

The whole application was all lodged 5.5 weeks ago. so we still got a possible 6 more weeks to wait, if its going to be within the 3 month target.

We are in the UK basically sitting on our baggage.

and we really dont know when the final part will come.

what visa will cancel what?

Whichever is granted second will cancel the first one.

So, you apply for an evisitor, without telling your CO, on for example October 7th at midday
Your CO has decided to grant the 457 on October 6th, sends you an email on October 7th telling you its granted but you do't see it till 2pm by which time you have applied for the evisitor.
Evisitor is granted on the 7th so is granted AFTER the 457 therefore is the current visa and effectively cancels your 457.

Tell your CO beforehand - they may even say that the 457 is granted and no need for the evisitor

I have emailed my agent to tell him but he wont get it for a few hours now.

It maybe too risky applying for a 651 evisitor just incase
