Re: Victoria SMP (merged threads)
Where it mentions that we can use expired skills assessment letter for visa lodgement?
dear Umair i have applied yesterday using online payment with credit card.Same i have sent my documents via courier yesterday , problem is that my ex - company boss just agreed to sign on my experience stamp paper , they just agreed to issue me HR reference letter not detailed experience letter , but my x-boss agreed to sign on my stamp paper where my experience jotted in detail.
Moreover , i have read on FAQ GSM
How will my visa application be affected?
For all new applications lodged on or after 1 July 2010, the department will use ANZSCO codes and occupation information instead of ASCO in its systems and records. You will need to nominate your occupation in ANZSCO from 1 July 2010.
From above faq i infer that i could apply on the basis of ASCO code 2231-79 (Oracle Specialist).

Hi Guys
My post is partly related to Victoria SS. However I will still go ahead...
I applied for Vic SS on 5th Dec and until now I havnt heard about the result ...
The issue is that I have got Tier 1 (General) migrant visa for the UK, and although UK is great but I wanted to move to the Ozland.
However, with the speed of processing for VicSS (176) and the 175 visa, I am thinking that if I dont avail the UK opportunity now then it would be gone as I will be unable to apply for Tier 1 extension visa after 2 years (I have to be earning in UK to get this visa extended and if I dont go now then I wont be able to earn enough to get it extended). Moreover Tier1 category is now closed by the UK so I guess I am one of the last few lucky one to get it in time.
And on the other hand who know if my Oz immig. will ever get processed !
Just for info, in Oz the main advantage is that you can get passport in 4-5 yrs while in UK its 7-8 years. Besides that both countries have their own advantage and disadvantages...
I dont want to wander around i.e. go to UK first and then later on move to OZ. My confusion is either to go to the UK now or wait for the Oz immig.
So guyz, I am keen to listen to your comments on whether I should move to the UK now or wait for Vic SS(176) or independent (175) visa (for which I have to still apply)?

Well, it depends upon where are you living right now. If it is a HR country, then moving to UK would certainly be a better option rather than waiting there for VIC SS which may or may not come.
Just my 2 cents..

The best option I think is you should go ahead for UK and get UK experience. Besides also try for OZ 175 or 176. And once you will get OZ visa then you can move to OZ
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Victoria SMP (merged threads)
Mate,
I also had a tough time regarding my case. I was to apply for 175 on or after 8 Feb 2010 but the DIAC removed MODL points on 8-Feb changes and I stuck. And you can see I managed to apply for visa just a few days ago. Still I can't predict anything... So we can say its a complete luck for us
The reason I was pointing out that question is because I think your approach has much risk. after all we will have to pay $2575, not small money....
I think you should ask about your issue to DIAC. May be they will allow you to go ahead with you alternatives.
Thanks.

none. but they might take it into consideration especially if it is only days apart... ours are not normal-case scenario like yours that's why we're finding hard ways how to make things work... time is not on our side... and the way ACS is moving, i don't think we can wait any longer for another assessment.

Alright, if Tier 1 for UK was not enough of confusion for me (see me previous post) then here is the response that I got from Vic SS:
Thank you for the application for Victorian Government nomination under the 176 - Sponsored visa scheme under the occupation of 261313 Software Engineer.
To be eligible for skilled migration, applicants will need to have their skills assessed by the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Visit the ACS website for details on gaining the assessment: www.acs.org.au.
The Skilled and Business Migration Program will hold the application open for three months to enable you to complete the registration process. Once you receive the assessment, email a scanned copy to the Skilled and Business Migration Program.
We look forward to receiving the skill assessment.
Please quote Reference Number : SS-2010-XXXXX in all of your communication to us.
Can any one please tell me that if I submit ACS then would they grant me VIC SS based on that or does that mean that I will just complete a list of documents and then VIC SS would still think if they'll be giving me SS?

Re: Victoria SMP (merged threads)
Hmm yea probably.
ACS is not a required document by Vic AA, so the fact that they dint out rightly rejected my application means some thing good atleast.
Also if If ACS accredits me as Software Engineer then it will just add to something that they already know ... because if they were to reject me then it would be based on the existing information ...
So form that I am guessing that that if I have a +ve ACs then most probably I wil get Vis SS... and of course I may be wrong.
Any thoughts on that?
