Default Vetassess

Hi, We are currently putting together all the bits for my wife's Vetassess assessment. She has a degree in Biology and PhD. We have her transcript for the degree, but it is very vague as to Exams (ie Biology1, Biology 2 etc) so it is not clear what is covered in the course. The PhD does not give you a transcript, and it is proving difficult to get a anything from the University at all (we already have the certificate, but that just says Doctor of Philosophy). The PhD is publically available from the University library (and searchable on their web site), for those sad enough to want to read it, and the title gives enough information as to what it is all about. Our intention was to go for assessment as biochemist as this is what she has done since the PhD, and what the PhD enabled her to do, but are worried that the vague description on the degree and the lack of info about the PhD will not help with the assessment.

Short of sending a copy of the PhD thesis is there anything else that we should do

Thanks

Alastair

Hi Alastair,

For a PhD you can use the examiner's comments or a precis and the title page.

Also, you should check the Vetassess website as their fees decreased today to A$290 for an Australian qualification and A$350 for an overseas qualification, "effective immediately".

Cheers,

Would Vetassess even take much of an interest in the PhD if the applicant had another degree equivalent to an Australian bachelors (which is sufficient for a 50 point assessment) and could supply the information for that?

Hi Jeremy,

Yes, you could do either. Generally where there's a UK university transcript deficit for the first degree a PhD is easier to establish.
