Validation Trip to Sydney
Hi,
I hold the GSM-175 PR and planning to visit Sydney in Nov 2nd week.
I will be traveling with my family - my wife & one year old son.
I have a few queries on this topic. Requesting a quick reply.
- Is visa stamp in passport not required? How would the immigration in India find out the visa validity?
- How about the medical/health coverage during the trip?
- Do we have to register for medicare? If yes then how.
- Is it required to create a bank account during the validation trip? What are the benefits?

Visa stamps are not required officially, but I would definitely get one. We have had three times an airline check in not finding our visa and if I were travelling from India I would definitely get it.
You should consider travel insurance for your trip, which is just a holiday.
You should definitely not register for Medicare on your holiday, this is something you should do once you move here.
Up to you is you open a bank account, no advantages or disadvantages. On balance I wouldn't bother, why spend your holiday meeting bank managers. Just save it for when you move.
